How to tell the unit is running
WarDragon is built to run headless, without a screen, and has no status lights meant to be read from outside. Any lights you can see belong to internal components and do not tell you whether the unit is detecting. Use one of the checks below instead.
Note Give the unit about a minute after power is applied before checking.
Checks, easiest first
| Check | What it confirms | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| The WarDragon Console | Health of each receiver, current detections, GPS, and system status in one view | The Console installed, and a browser on the unit, a laptop over SSH, or a tethered tablet |
| Screen and keyboard | The unit has started to its desktop | The Mobile maintenance screen, or a monitor and keyboard |
ping <wardragon-ip> | The unit is on the network | The unit’s address |
| SSH | Command-line access for the service check below | Remote access set up first; see Getting remote access working the first time |
| Remote desktop | The desktop, as with a local screen | Remote desktop set up first, as in the same article |
With command-line access, confirm the detection services are running:
sudo systemctl status zmq-decoder dji-receiver dragonsync
All three should show active (running). If they do and there are still no DJI detections, see Why a bench test shows no DJI detections.
