Which kit

Two questions select a configuration. Everything else is antennas, and antennas are specified per site.

Does it travel, or does it stay? A team that moves between locations wants Mobile — a hardened carry case, working within minutes of arrival, nothing installed at the site. A location that needs watching continuously wants Drop-In — a DIN-rail enclosure that fits inside a housing already in the field and runs with nobody present.

Do hand-built aircraft matter? If the concern is commercially manufactured drones, Pro covers Remote ID and DJI OcuSync activity. If hand-built and first-person-view aircraft are part of the picture — and at open-ground sites they usually are — Elite adds a second software-defined radio covering FPV control and video links and open telemetry standards.

The second radio is fitted at manufacture. It is not an upgrade a Pro kit can take later, which makes this the one decision worth getting right at purchase.

Both tiers ship in the same enclosures. A Pro Mobile and an Elite Mobile are the same case; the difference is inside it. That is also why an organization can operate a mix without training staff on two systems.

What it detects

Aircraft announce themselves in different ways, and the ones that matter often do not announce themselves at all. Coverage is not limited to Remote ID.

Remote ID broadcasts. Received over Wi-Fi on 2.4 and 5 GHz and over Bluetooth. This covers most commercially manufactured aircraft, flown by operators following the rules.

DJI OcuSync activity. Identifies DJI aircraft on their control and video link, including flights where Remote ID is absent or disabled. Encrypted implementations are detected and correlated per flight; resolving one to a serial number requires the DragonScope service.

FPV and telemetry, on Elite. The second software-defined radio covers FPV control and video links and open telemetry standards — the aircraft that carry no Remote ID and fly outside the bands a Remote ID receiver watches.

Complete in one enclosure. Each kit ships with the processor, software-defined radio, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters, antennas, and power adapters needed to operate. DragonOS is preloaded.

RANGE

Distance is an antenna decision.

Standard antenna configurations detect a wide range of drone signals at estimated distances of up to 5 km. High-gain configurations extend detection beyond 10 km under favorable conditions. These are estimates rather than specifications: RF environment, antenna height, line of sight, and aircraft type all materially affect what a given installation achieves.

Detection distance comes from antenna selection, height, placement, line of sight, and the RF environment rather than from the processor inside the kit. A kit fitted with the supplied paddle antennas and one fitted with a high-gain directional array are the same kit with very different coverage.

Coverage is shaped as well as extended. Omnidirectional antennas cover a site evenly, directional antennas concentrate sensitivity along an approach or a boundary, and the WarDragon Multi-Antenna Mount carries up to six antennas on a single pole for larger or more complex footprints. Additional nodes aggregate into one picture.

Antennas are specified per site rather than sold from a page, because the right answer depends on the geometry of the location.

Where the detections go

The kit needs software to be useful, and we do not insist it is ours. Detections publish as CoT, the message format TAK and TAK-compatible systems already use, so they arrive in the operating picture your team is trained on rather than in a separate application.

Detections can route to a TAK-based picture, to WarDragon Analytics for aggregating nodes into a central map and dashboard, to 4DV Analytics where that workflow is in use, or to an endpoint of your own such as existing middleware or a command-center ingestion path. Where an organization has no system to route into, options are available and configured as part of the deployment.

Every system is priced on its product page. There is no quote gate and no discovery call required before a number is available.

Detection is included, permanently.

Detection runs on the device with no recurring fee and no connection to our servers. The DragonScope Drone ID Service is a separate annual capability that decodes encrypted DJI identification, including OcuSync 4, so a flight resolves to a serial number, a pilot location, and a takeoff point. Without it, the system still detects those aircraft and correlates them per flight.

What it will not do

Stated before purchase rather than discovered after it.

It does not jam, disable, take control of, or otherwise interfere with an aircraft. Detection is passive: the system receives, and does not transmit for detection or emit a signal for ranging. Under federal law, mitigation measures are restricted to specific agencies with express statutory authority.

It does not detect an aircraft that transmits nothing at all. A fully autonomous flight with no control link is outside the reach of RF detection of any kind, ours included. Radar is the answer to that class of aircraft, and it has its own constraints.

It does not add FPV and telemetry coverage to a Pro kit later. The second software-defined radio is fitted at manufacture.

It does not resolve encrypted DJI identification to a serial number without the DragonScope service. Those flights are detected and correlated per flight regardless.

It does not determine intent, and it does not decide anything. Output is a detection record delivered to the systems you already run. What happens next is yours.

Passive by design

Where a system reports an identifier, an aircraft position, or an operator location, that information is present in the transmission itself. Remote ID is a signal aircraft are required to broadcast for public receipt.
