The operational problem

Coverage is required for a small number of days, at a different location each time.

There is neither time nor authority to install fixed equipment at a venue the operator does not own.

Clients and venues increasingly expect a documented plan for the airspace in the security proposal.

Telling routine hobbyist activity from activity that warrants a response is difficult without identification.

The cost lands in two places. During the event, a team that cannot distinguish a hobbyist from a repeat presence either escalates every sighting or none of them, and both choices are visible to the client. After the event, the debrief has nothing in it about the airspace, which is the section clients are starting to ask for by name.

It also shows up in the bid. An operator who can describe an airspace posture in a proposal is answering a question competitors are leaving blank.

What WarDragon delivers against it

Event work is constrained by time and permission more than by budget. The system arrives with the team, works for the duration, and leaves nothing behind.

Set up and struck by the same team. A hardened carry case with external antenna and GPS connections, running on 12V or 24V DC from a vehicle or on 120V AC. Operational within minutes of arrival and packed down the same way.

Beyond Remote ID. Continuous monitoring across the standards drones actually use. Elite adds coverage of the control and video links flown by hand-built aircraft, which is what turns up at open-ground venues and never appears in Remote ID.

Repeat operators. Unique identifiers mean an aircraft returning on day three is recognizable as the same aircraft rather than as a new contact, which is what separates a nuisance from a pattern worth reporting.

Open by design. Detections publish as CoT into the picture the security operation already runs. Where there is no existing system, routing options are configured as part of the deployment.

Coverage is not limited to Remote ID. WarDragon receives Remote ID broadcasts over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, identifies DJI OcuSync activity, and on Elite kits covers FPV control and video links and open telemetry standards through a second software-defined radio. The demodulation library grows with each software release and reaches kits already in the field.

Detection distance comes from antenna selection, height, placement, line of sight, and the RF environment rather than from the processor inside the kit. Antennas are specified per site.

What it will not do

It does not jam, disable, take control of, or otherwise interfere with an aircraft. Detection is passive; the system only listens.

It does not detect an aircraft that transmits nothing at all. A fully autonomous flight with no control link is outside the reach of RF detection of any kind, ours included. Radar is the answer to that class of aircraft.

It does not determine intent, and it does not decide anything. Output is a detection record delivered to the systems you already run.

It does not control the airspace or the aircraft in it. It tells the team what is there; the response plan is the team’s, and the authority to act on it belongs to whoever holds it at that venue.

Specifying a system for event work

Event work is temporary by nature, so the Mobile configuration is the appropriate fit. It is deployed for the event, removed afterward, and requires no installation at the venue.

The Elite tier adds x86 processing and a second software-defined radio, extending coverage to FPV control and video links and open telemetry standards. Open-ground venues attract exactly those aircraft, so Elite is worth specifying where that activity is expected. The second radio is fitted at manufacture and is not a later addition.

Large-footprint and multi-stage sites are covered by shaping the antenna layout or deploying more than one node, not by moving to a higher processing tier. Antenna packages and the WarDragon Multi-Antenna Mount address the physical side. Operators responsible for a permanent venue sometimes add a Drop-In system at their primary site.

Detection is included with the kit and stays included, with no recurring fee and no connection to our servers. DragonScope is a separate capability rather than an unlock: it decodes encrypted DJI identification, including OcuSync 4, so the same airframe is recognizable across days. An operator building a case about a repeat presence adds it. An operator covering a single weekend does not.

No platform to buy into.

Detection data belongs to the operation that collected it. It routes into the systems a security team already runs, carries no recurring fee, and needs no cloud connection, so it keeps working at venues with poor connectivity and at sites where there is no network to join.
