Drone Detection for Corrections
Drones have become one of the most persistent contraband delivery methods facing correctional facilities. They arrive at night, they take seconds, and by the time staff know something happened the aircraft is gone.
The Operational Problem
- Activity happens at hours when staffing is thinnest
- Perimeter cameras and fences were designed for ground approaches, not airspace
- Without detection, the first sign of a delivery is often the contraband itself
- Incidents are hard to document, which makes them hard to investigate or prosecute
What WarDragon Provides
Continuous airspace awareness over the facility, so drone activity is detected while it’s happening rather than discovered afterward. Staff get the information needed to respond, and the facility builds a record of activity over time — which matters for staffing decisions, for investigations, and for demonstrating the scale of the problem to those who fund the response.
Recommended Configuration
Corrections is a fixed-site mission, so the Drop-In configuration is usually the right starting point — installed once, running continuously.
Larger campuses, sites with complex geography, or facilities covering wide perimeters generally warrant the Elite tier for its extended range and processing capability. Departments operating several facilities sometimes add a Mobile unit that can be moved to whichever site is seeing the most activity.
Commercial WarDragon systems are manufactured and distributed by Millenium Products.
