Warranty coverage and how to make a claim

What the hardware warranty covers, what it does not, and how to make a claim. The governing text is the Sales and Shipping Terms on the legal page; this article summarizes it.

Coverage

ItemWarranty
HardwareLimited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, for ninety days from delivery
Software, including DragonOS and the detection servicesProvided as is and as available, without warranty
DragonScope serviceGoverned by the DragonScope Service Agreement, not the hardware warranty
RemedyRepair or replacement of the defective hardware

What is excluded

  • Misuse or improper installation
  • Environmental damage — including water ingress on a Drop-In unit installed without a suitable weatherproof enclosure
  • Unauthorized modification or repair
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Products used outside the United States

Antennas, cables, and inline devices you supply

You may connect your own SMA antennas, coax, and inline devices to the unit’s external ports. Doing so does not void the warranty, provided the kit itself is not modified and the unit is not electrically damaged. Two things to keep in mind:

  • Damage caused by an external device — a powered amplifier fed incorrectly, a transmitter connected to a receive port, reversed DC polarity — is electrical damage and is excluded.
  • No detection performance or range is guaranteed with any antenna, supplied or otherwise. Performance depends on the RF environment and installation. See Antennas: what ships, what you can change, and why range is not published.

Making a claim

  1. Open a request through the support page within the warranty period.
  2. Include the serial number or order reference, the date of delivery, the configuration, and a description of the defect with photographs where it is visible.
  3. Include a diagnostic bundle if the unit boots. See Opening a support request and building a diagnostic bundle.
  4. Do not ship the unit until support confirms the claim and provides return instructions.

Note Where this article and the Sales and Shipping Terms differ, the terms govern. Read them on the legal page.
